Wall Posters — Cindy Crawford

It’s time for another installment in our award winning series (relic lover Angry says it’s “awesome” so that’s good enough for me) Wall Posters.  Today we celebrate the 50th birthday of Illinois native, Cindy Crawford.

It was the mole right?  You can admit it fellas.  That’s what you all focused on wasn’t it?  Well, I’m happy to report that she still has it – – And I’m not just talking about the mole!

Another Sign of the Impending Apocalypse — Cucumber Beer

image

I think that most of you know that we here at the Monkey are big fans of Beer. I’m pretty sure that AB/InBev is about to award IJ a lifetime achievement medal to go along with his Hall of Fame induction in 1998 with Mongo about to receive his own HOF induction any day now. Oops, stand by, the ADHD just kicked in and I’m going to go on a little beer tangent before I get back to fooking cucumber beer, so grab a frosty one and buckle up. Continue reading

Golf Course Review — Shadow Creek

p.php

Whenever the String starts planning a trip to Vegas, golf invariably enters the discussion.  It usually gets dismissed pretty quickly because, as IJ is want to say, “You can’t serve two masters.”  And when it comes to Vegas and IJ, the master serving a steady stream of buds while allowing him to preach his unique brand of wisdom to four or five other people at the Blackjack table 18 hours at a stretch is pretty damn persuasive. Wall Posters

In the first of what I expect will be a regular feature here on Monkey With A Gun, and because Angry has a thing for the relics, we here at the Monkey thought it would be interesting to see what happened to those people that we had posters of on our wall in our bedrooms as teens.  I won’t get into why we had them up there because, well you know why and don’t really want or need to explain it.  So, without further ado, here’s the first:

Cheryl Tiegs

A classic right?  Ms. Tiegs is now 68.  Here’s a recent photo.

Feel the Burn

Bad news for Bern. That well-known right wing rag, the NY Times, quoting died in the wool conservative economists like Austan Goolsbee and Paul Krugman, says his healthcare plans will cost $30 trillion.

That’s with a “T” as in Titanic or ‘no fooking way.

The Narcissist is also mentioned.  His bullshit plans are almost as bad. $15 Trillion over 10 years. He is many things – liar, blowhard, braggart, asshole, etc. – but a conservative he is not. Maybe he will get Mexico to pay for it.

Proof the MSM is in the Tank for the Dems

It may not always be conscious, but it’s true.  The main stream media is full of biased, left leaning, democrats.  As a regular feature, and without even trying hard, I intend to bring such bias to light.  Take this LA Times article about Saturday Night’s GOP Debate (or as we on the String like to refer to it “Return to Thunderdome”).

http://www.latimes.com/nation/politics/la-na-gop-south-carolina-20160215-story.html

Money quote (and third paragraph no less):

“Candidates promoted opposition to gay rights and to abortion under any circumstances and support for unfettered access to guns, all issues that please the Republican base but run counter to the views of a general election audience.”

Really?  That’s’ what you took away from the debate?  Dog-whistle much?  I must have been on a different feed.  I won’t even go into how misleading that description is.   But, the author does latter expound on the candidates positions and you will be shocked I am sure to see that the facts don’t match the flat statements at the beginning of the article.  For example, saying that the Democrats want unfettered access to abortion means that you want abortion available under any circumstances.

That’s not even the real issue though.  My take of the debate was that it was primarily focused on whether the President should be allowed to nominate a successor to Justice Scalia as a lame duck (see Pipes’ excellent post on that issue below) and whether the Iraq war was a mistake.   The first issue got about 5 words and how far do we need to go into the article for a discussion of the discussion of the Iraq war?  Other than a reference to former President George W. Bush, it’s not mentioned.

But wait, it does describe Secretary Clinton as the adult in the room though.  YHGTBSM!

This isn’t an opinion piece folks, unreal.  No wait, it’s what I expected.

SeaDick is in the House — Time for this Joint to get fair and balanced!

SeaDick here. I’ve been loving the posts from Pipes, but as you have undoubtedly noticed he leans a little to the left.  Since I lean a little to the right (fiscal conservative, social liberal, so don’t get you panties in a bunch thinking I’m a Cruz fan or something) I thought I would jump on here occasionally to add a little balance.

Don’t go expecting me to be as prolific as Pipes (I have a real job), but I will try to provide the counter-point to his point (“Pipes, you ignorant slut”).  I’m going to add a couple of regular features, such as the “String Pic of the Week” and “Proof That The Main Stream Media is a Working Arm of the Democratic Party.”  Should be fun.  As the String is want to say, “What Could Go Wrong?”
