First off, thanks to Seadick for stepping in and getting the WWMD posted the last several games.  I’ve been slacking off lately on the blogging, but making a comeback this weekend.  But there is no “I” in blogging, and that’s what teammates are for.

Anyway, what the hell is Joe going to do today?  How will he break the Cubs’ slump?  (And by slump I mean they lost last night.)  Looks like Heyward will be out for 3-5 games, so the lineup is anyone’s guess.  Oh well, give it your best shot.

Speaking of Heyward, did you see that catch?  Ridiculous.

Kentucky Derby – Live Blog

Got an invite from Kool Gregg a couple weeks ago to join his A+ crew at the Kentucky Derby. Haven’t been to the Derby since 1995 for Ratt’s bachelor party, so absolutely had to be here. Killer time so far I guess.

Kool claims Derby weekend is the best sporting event of the year. Better than the Super Bowl, NCAA championship, World Series, etc.  My first thought, that’s ridiculous!  Better than the Super Bowl?!?  I’ve been to the Super Bowl, and it’s awesome!  The Colts lost, and it was still awesome. How could a bunch of animals running in a circle compare to that?

But after the first day, I’m coming around to Kool’s way of thinking.  Continue reading

Seadick and I came up with a new game today that will probably go viral and break the Internets.  The game is called WWMD, or What Will Maddon Do? Continue reading

MMFU — Final Update

I know, I know, you are saying WTF SeaDick?  Where have the MMFUs been.  Well, all I have to say is that I have a job and it was a full time job just keeping track of all the wagers that Kool and I had going over the last 3 weeks.  117 of them at last count.  That was a full time job in and of itself.  Anyhoo, here’s how things ended up.

This was good:

This was bad, very bad:

It resulted in this:

Kool is Dr. Evil of course.

MFMU — Brains Beats Morans Every Time

makai-mason-yale-vs-baylor-jpg

In hindsight I guess I should have seen it coming.  The hints where there.  A 12 always beats a 5.  The game was in Providence, RI.  The favorite was in the Big 12, which Kool says is weak other than Kansas.  The underdog is playing with a chip on its shoulder because it’s captain was expelled following a controversial sexual assault allegation (http://www.nytimes.com/2016/03/15/sports/basketball/yale-basketball-captain-says-he-was-wrongfully-expelled.html?_r=0) and the average IQ of the two teams probably has a 30 point differential.  Now sometimes brawn beats brains, but when one of the brawns decides it’s a good idea to try to go behind the back in the middle of traffic in the lane with 3 seconds to go and down by 2 . . . well, you know what happened. MFMU — Who Didn’t Have Faith in Michigan?

imageThat would be me I guess.  SeaDick is on the right side of the ledga boys and girls with an impressive sweep of both games last night to even the standings at 2-2.  Well, maybe more lucky than good, but just like my golf game, I’ll take it.  Now that the real  tourney has started, not the “First Four” (More like the “No One is Watching These Games Four.”  It took me like 10 minutes to even find the right channel.  TruTv?  WTF?) we can get down to the real wagering.  Kool and I spent a good 30 minutes last night picking today’s games and I think I am going to absolutely own his ass today.  Not literally of course, but you knew what I meant.  Like Mongo says, “I know that you know that I know that you know that I know.”  Cawk.  Anyway, here’s today’s picks: Continue reading

March Fooking Madness Update

Time for a March Fooking Madness Update.  We’ll be using MFMU for short I think.  In any event, it wasn’t the greatest start from my perspective, but I am sure Kool is cackling in his lair this morning contemplating whether he really can go 69-0.  How great is it by the way that there are 69 games?  Childish?  Yes.  Funny?  Hell yes.  But once again I digress.
