Top X Greatest Songs Ever

Top 10 Songs

Like I said a couple weeks ago, I gotta break my blogging slump.  Tried to get back in the groove a couple weeks ago, but work and life sometimes interfere with our true calling.  Started a couple blogs on Trump and fucking Republicans, but that is just going to create controversy, and I certainly don’t need any more of that in my life.  So here’s an easy one, and something we can all agree on—the Top Ten Greatest Songs EVER.  Not exactly breaking new ground here, but since it is a list, in order, and covers the greatest songs EVER, it automatically qualifies for Premier Blog status.  Can’t really argue with that logic.

Actually, although the Top 10 songs are pretty obvious, I suppose reasonable minds could differ on the ORDER of the Top Ten.  And maybe there is some gray area as to the 10 spot.  Hotel California really should be on the list, and I expect to catch holy hell for its exclusion.  Oh well.  That is what premier blogging is all about.

The Magic Ipod is Awesome, You Guys

You guys gotta hear this!!  Check out  You will not regret it.  Basically you can combine, or “mashup”, a rap song and a pop song from the 2000’s to make a whole new song!  If you do the math, and I have, you can create a couple hundred or so combinations from songs you already know and like, but alas, each combo is a whole new song.  What a great way to “Keep Going,” as IJ advised in his famous one-and-done manifesto of the same name.

I am all in on the The Magic Ipod and will be enjoying it as long as it is available, which likely won’t be long, because this is copyright infringement of the first order of magnitude.  So enjoy it while you can before someone ruins the fun like they always do.

SeaDick’s Best Albums of 2016

Alright Monkey fans, I know what you have been saying “SeaDick, where’s the rest of your Best Albums of 2016? For fuck’s sake, it can’t consist of just four albums and it’s almost 2017!”  Mea culpa. No excuses, just an apology and the rest of the list. [Sidenote: I am sure all the smart readers out there have noticed that these posts have been styled as a “Best of” and not a “Top XX.”  So Mr. “Premiere Blogger,” you are just going to have to try to figure out the difference. Only a moran, would insist on ranking everything. It doesn’t always have to be a zero sum game you guys. That’s why we have all those meaningless college bowl games. One last digression as well, Pipes keeps describing himself as a “premier” blogger. I’m going to let my man Inigo Montoya speak out on that:

Alright enough of the digressions. Without any further ado, here are the rest of my best albums of 2016 in alphabetical order (because if you aren’t ranking them, they should be alphabetical so that people don’t think they are out of alphabetical order for a reason.  This is known); Continue reading

“We Are The World” – a Definitive History

In one of the premiere blogs of 2016, on this site or any other, I extensively documented how Prince was AWOL from USA for Africa.  Then yesterday, I keenly noted how Bob Dylan Snubbed the Nobel Prize but Showed Up for USA for Africa.  Well, the history of We Are The World would not be complete without covering the 2010 remake to raise awareness of the disaster in Haiti, and then SNL’s We are the World 3, to raise awareness of the disaster that was We Are The World 2.
